this is what you'll find on my right ankle these days. my mom thinks i look like a prisoner. parents they never get 21st century teenage fashion do they? LOL ;)

actually the anklet, and the idea of a bracelet or a "kurra" is from the fact that we were a slaved nation and such jewellery is representative of that part of our culture. the symbolism behind the bracelet or anklet is rather demeaning and offensive to a lot of people even today.
