goodbye

merry christmas everyone :)

we don't have snow here as yet, and honestly i don't want to see it this year. but then again i can't really stop the snow from falling when it's time.

i've been away. had finals, papers and procrastination to deal with. and i have been neglectful of this blog.

i forgot to mention about different things that had been happening in life in terms of photography. well i'm officially a permanent staff member of the school newspaper. mostly i work with the arts and entertainment section and wayne the editor is so cool. in novembers issue i had a small photography feature with about six of my photographs and a description of what they meant to me etc followed by a slideshow i did at one of the end of semester get-togethers for freshmen students. the feedback was nice, so many people have been supportive and encouraging. and now everyone recognizes me as the girl with the big camera walking around campus. i also had the most wonderful oppurtunity to go to the New York Times. and my God it's amazing there. one of the NY times editors works with our school paper to give us tips and all that, and she is just so amazing. i never got to meet with any photographers that day since it was pretty early for everyone to be in, but i met with photo editors and one sports photographer and it was just so so so amazing. the pictures that they have of aghanistan and the 9/11 aftermath are absolutely brilliant. i could totally imagine myself just working there. hahahaha.

last year i made this blog at around 3pm i remember on the 5th of May, 2005. my mom and i went to shore road, and i took pictures. i came back home and thought i really need to do something. i just have all these pictures, why not put them up on the internet. and so this blog came into being. everyone was/has been so supportive of it and much love to all :)

i am saying goodbye to this photoblog. it's been great here and i have loved every posting minute hahaha. if any of you want to see pictures up please visit the flickr page.

i don't know but i think the woman in the second picture looks like Debra Messing, but she's not, it just looks like her. anyway, i edited the pictures to go for this specific kind of look, and God knows what it's called.

tis the season of midterms.

hello lovely photobloggers, regular bloggers and facebook people (yes i'm trying to accomodate everyone here, and since facebook imports from this blog....well you know the drill)

as the title of the post clearly states the dilemma of my life, it is safe to say i'm a walking zombie who couldn't know what 2+2 equals to, even if her life depended on it. oh yes life is peachy right now. for updates please check the flickr page, since i am so lazy to do all the techincal work to post pictures on this blog.

http://www.flickr.com/photos/natashajahangirbutt/

i'm suppossed to be working and here i am trying to not work. it's 1:58AM, and sleep is overrated for architecture students, which i think is sad.

no please don't ask me why i'm doing architecture.

11th Floor Secret (Architecture Studio)

11th Floor Secret Desires

(10/08/06)

standing on the 11th floor, looking down i pretend and think of so many things that no one will know of. when you watch the world from the inside of an architecture studio, it's cold and silent. There is a collapse of space, secretly every square inch. Original light sources come in, reflect and become foriegn in an instant. My vision is much clearer now, much more precise but details don't really matter or do they? They're like the simple math problem with unnecessary information to throw you off. The answer is still 27, not 89.

Don't you think we ought to know by now
Don't you think we should've learned somehow?

N Train

R Train

(10/02/06)

took my camera to school today, actually i've taken it to school many times before but i'm working for the school paper and they needed me (yes me *shines*) to take pictures of the AOL Time Warner building (which didn't come out so great), next to my school. hehehehe. so yeah the R train takes me home, while the N train goes over the Manhattan bridge.

Tongue Tied

Still This Feels Like The End - Aqualung

(09/25/06)

I'm tongue tied
Waiting
Hoping
And praying
Lying
Beside you
Longing
To touch you

But this feels like the end

So tired
We are
Drifting
Too far
Eyes closed
Tightly
Thinking
There might be
Some way

But this feels like the end

What went wrong
I need to know
I can feel
You're letting go
Though there is
So much to say
I'm tongue tied
Tongue tied
Waiting

I'm tongue tied
Waiting
Hoping
And praying
So near
Yet so far
Alone
Together

Still this feels like the end
Still this feels like the end
Still this feelslike the end
Feels like the end

- Aqualung.

i love aqualung, and this song in particular makes me so sad, yet i still listen to it. the healing garden body sprays are awesome.
